In 2019, a group of Coaches from India started their journey of becoming a credentialed Team Coach. This was the first time that EMCC had launched a credential for Team Coaching. These coaches came together to share their experiences of working with teams and organisations to enable collective learning. In a short period of time, coaches from other parts of the world also got attracted to this group.
As time went by, it became evident that the diversity of thoughts made learning more creative and generative than individual knowledge and wisdom. They also saw that by virtue of working together, they were able to create higher value-add for their partners.
Soon we started seeing the impact of pandemic. While the visible impact of Covid is known, we started experiencing its invisible impact on organisations around belongingness, relationships and engagement. Our interactions with organisations and leaders showed us that the agility to respond to these fast and frequent changes were crucial. For organisations to be agile, we sensed they need to understand the interrelatedness and leverage it as a system – a.k.a organisation and its culture.
Our epiphany moment was when we saw that the DNA of organizations is changing. The need NOW, is to nurture organisations with a systemic perspective – failing which, it poses an imminent threat to their development and growth. Coming back to the coaches’ collective, few of those coaches who aligned with this emerging need came together and thus Systemic Coaching International (SCI) was born.
